Effective 4 September 2026 · Last reviewed 4 September 2026
This policy describes the personal information FootieAtlas actually processes today. We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising or third-party marketing trackers, we do not send marketing emails, we do not send push notifications and we do not collect precise location.
Who we are
FootieAtlas is an independent Premier League fan platform and an Anviti Labs product. It covers fixtures, clubs, stadiums, city travel guides, fan reviews and Fan Zone games. For anything in this policy, including data requests, contact us through the contact page — that is our primary support route.
What we process
- Account and authentication — email address and password (handled by our authentication provider), or a Google sign-in if you choose it, plus your session token.
- Profile — display name, username, avatar image, country, short bio, the club you support and your favourite/followed clubs.
- Your contributions — stadium and city reviews and ratings, attendance markers and season-ticket setting, visited stadiums and cities, score predictions, prediction leagues you create or join, and trivia answers.
- Preferences — kick-off time zone, light/dark theme and whether attendance is shown publicly.
- Support messages — the name, email address, subject and message you send through the contact form.
- Technical data — the request information any web server and our hosting provider receive to deliver pages securely, plus error diagnostics.
Why we process it, and our lawful basis
- Providing your account and the features you use (profile, reviews, attendance, predictions, leagues, trivia) — performance of our contract with you.
- Showing community content such as public reviews and league standings — legitimate interests in running a community platform, balanced against your ability to edit or delete your contributions.
- Answering support and data-correction requests — legitimate interests, or compliance with a legal obligation for rights requests.
- Keeping the service secure and working (rate limiting, error diagnostics, abuse prevention) — legitimate interests.
- Storing your preferences on your device — strictly necessary for a service you requested. See the cookies and storage policy.
What other people can see
Your username, display name, avatar, supported club and any reviews or ratings you publish are visible to other fans, as are your entries in prediction leagues you join. Attendance can be hidden from public match listings from your profile settings. Your email address, sign-in details and support messages are never shown publicly.
Who processes data for us
- Our managed backend provider — hosts the database, authentication and the storage bucket holding avatar images.
- Our application hosting provider — serves the site and processes the technical request data needed to do so.
- Football data and news providers — supply fixtures, results, tables, squads, statistics, transfers and headlines. These are fetched by our servers, not by your browser, and are not linked to you.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards in those providers' data-processing terms, such as standard contractual clauses. If you need the current hosting region confirmed for a specific request, ask us through the contact page.
How long we keep it
- Account, profile and contributions — for as long as your account exists.
- Deleted account — profile, reviews, attendance, predictions and other account content are removed immediately and irreversibly when you delete your account.
- Individual reviews you delete — removed immediately.
- Contact messages — kept while the query is open and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can follow up.
- Operational logs and sync records — short-lived and purged automatically.
Your rights
You have the right to be informed, and to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability where it applies.
- Edit your profile and preferences at any time in My Account.
- Delete individual reviews from the review you posted.
- Delete your account and all associated content from My Account → Delete account.
- For a copy of your data or any other request, use the contact page. We aim to respond within one month.
If you are in the UK and are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Access to your data is enforced at database level with row-level security policies, and privileged operations run only on our servers. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider, and you can request a secure password-reset link from My Account → Security. No online service can promise absolute security, but we design for least privilege and review access rules as the app changes.
Children and younger fans
FootieAtlas is a general-audience football site aimed at adults, and accounts are not intended for children under 13. We know football apps are attractive to younger fans, so account features are deliberately conservative: no advertising or behavioural profiling, no marketing, no precise location, no direct messaging between users, and attendance can be hidden from public listings. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the app changes. The effective and last-reviewed dates at the top always reflect the current version.
